We had the wonderful opportunity to spend a few days exploring the Grand Canyon. It was much less stressful having Ben in a stroller, rather than being a mobile toddler on the edge of cliff drop offs! The enormity of the canyon did not disappoint; it was both Luke and I's first time seeing it. I will never forget my first glimpse. We took hundreds of pictures and honestly the reason we are so behind on the blog is because I was too overwhelmed sifting through them! We walked all along the south rim of the canyon, the weather was perfect in the 70's, we ate at restaurants with amazing views, we had close encounters with enormous elk, Ben watched his first "movie" (a Grand Canyon documentary), and we watched all the sunsets over the canyon- each night was spectacular and different.Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Oregon State Fair, Summer 2011
San Juan Islands, Summer 2011
Our summer vacation trip started in Seattle for a day, playing in the pool and exploring markets. We took the ferry the next day to San Juan. We were able to enjoy 2 days eating yummy sea food, exploring the shores, taking a boat ride to see whales, and visiting the Nagy family on Orcas Island where Ben got to fish for the first time. Unfortunately our trip was cut short when Benjamin broke his right femur while running to play with the tetherball on the campground. Friday, October 21, 2011
